today marks the end of the MR500 race, held at Seletar Reservoir
realli sucky for me
cos i screwed up in the 1st race -- Mix Team B
it was a race with the guys
the guys were super fast
and at the end, when they go for charging
the boat was too jerky that i lost my balance
the coaxier, Edward, had to push me back with his knee to get me back into position
realli sucky.
cos the seniors standing on the shore watching dinno wad happen
once i reached shore, they were questioning, "Why did you stop halfway?"
i just replied them they were too fast and i lost my balance.
after that they didn't say anything much.

Actually I did not feel that bad at first.
It was until Li Si, our own female coaxier came to ask me whether I was scolded.
It was then that it dawned on me that I've made a terrible mistake
by losing my balance, not to be able to carry on
started to tear. haha. I know it's very maloo but I cant help it.
couldn't face the team, as well as the guys team.
really sad and embarassed.

after that my captain, xiao hong, had to come and comfort me
cos it was so obvious that im utterly disappointed by my performance after my talk with Li Si
and i was isolating myself
she said something about outsiders may not be able to understand the problems the rowers face when they're racing
so they may over-react and say those words to you.

i think my captain and vice-caps, especially ah hee, my coach is very nice to me
for the mix team finals, ah hee selected me to go down again
this time round its the same boat and the same position in the boat
as if to make me go through the humiliating event again.
but this time round, i tried to keep my body low, and to always lean my body forward
so that i will be less affected by the jerking when the boat goes into the final charging
it ended up to be a good race, i guess.
cos i think we got third for that race. will have a medal i guess. **glad
din cock up the show.

straight after that was the women's finals
i really went all out
my teammates also really went all out
we did better than yesterday
yesterday for the heats, the backpack couldn't hear the drummer's commands at all
in the end, the midpack and the backpack people only have 1 single stroke rate all the way
if the race were to carry on for another 20m, we could have lost and become 2nd or 3rd.

but todays' finals, we emerged fourth.
cos the other boats were really very strong
NUS was 1st, winning us by 8sec, after that was NTU canoeists, den RP dragonboaters
the last was the Bristish
the previous Breast Cancer Race, we couldn't even match up with the British
and today, within just 3 months, we could beat them
that calls for some celebration, i guess.
ah hee was satisfied with our results, and he was sure we will not come in last
he's so zhun3!!!
haha. we were super close to NUS
he said we keep biting their starts, keep following them and in the end they didn't win us by a lot
just ard half to 3/4 boat's length
wad a great news, considering they trained more than us, and even harder
ah hee says they trained too hard, that's why they underperformed
but its also an advantage cos this means that all of their fitness is already there
they just need to focus on their techniques and they'll pull away even further than us

all in all, today was a memorable day
with good and bad things to be remembered
will continue to improve and to perform better

-end-
