Today Mr J was being unreasonable again.
I left a stack of notes on his table, telling him to go thru it to check if i've missed out anything
he was not talking to the phone or whatever, but a few minutes later, he came back to question me saying "you can't just leave a stack of things on my desk without telling me what i'm suppose to do with it"
of course i argues with him!!! i told him i did
His tone really sucks. he sound as if im the one who's being unreasonable, and that i owe him an explanation like that
the thing is... we've agreed the previous month that we're going to adopt this procedure whereby i'll fill in all the particulars which i have the data, and i'll go thru it with him to make sure we didn't miss out anything before we ask hk to check if those missing entries beling to them. if they do beling to hk, the data should be entered from their side, not by us. this is also to prevent double counting
i bet he totally forgot about it, and i have to be forced to write him an officeal email to remind him of what we've agreed upon the last time/
qianhui reminded me to put a post-it on the things which im suppose to give him the next time to avoid confusion. asshole
he also always do these kind of things to me wad... just leave a pile of paper on my desk and wait for me to approach him before he explained what he wants me to do with it.
my other colleague says "that's life. he's the boss so he can do it but you can't" bleah...
then comes evening time. i went to operations to get info on op losses. there was this entry whereby a mistake was made and a full reversal was also made to correct the entry but the exchange rate was diff (due to transactions made at different times) hence the discrepancy by a small amt
the head of ops had to call mr j to scold him for wating her time and my time bcos a FULL reversal shouldn't have anything more to say. there is nothing to report since the error is covered.
but mr j insists that i should check all entries with ops to understand the full picture. he kep focussing on the general picture but the head wants him to focus on the specific case itself
he simply REFUSES to listen. in the end, the head won! and she also scolded mr j for being an idiot, of course only in front of me lah!
she is extremely pissed off with mr j for not understanding simple matters and instruction
i was right beside her and i really feel like killing mr j as i listen to their conversation
i just laugh "dun like that lah... im working for an idiot leh." and then the head simply stare at me with an "i give up" face. lol
when i finally went back to my seat, mr j was like "she's a hard nut to crack right?"
i was thinking "you're the one who made all these things happen. if not for you, she wouldn't be so agitated and feeling so horrible. how dare you still blame others for baring their fangs at you!
i really want to sack mr j!!! but before that, i have to make sure my next rice bowl is stable. i really hope my next job will be a better one, with less shitty ppl to deal with, esp someone like mr j.
I love my world:D

My new boss, whom I call Mr J, is damn shitty... I really dunno wad he's thinking in his mind.
1) He's always so busy... busy in gossips about who's leaving the company this month, how many more leaving next month. But when it comes to work, he doesn't seem to know anything, and he couldn't care less.
2) HK side suppose to inform Mr J of any losses, big or small, but they didn't.
I asked, trying to be sacarstic, "Are you sure they still know you're with the bank?"
Mr J: No lah. They should know
Me: Are you sure you don't need to send them a reminder to tell them that you still exist?
Mr J: We just monitor first. If next month they still dun report to me, then I'll have to go to CEO
3) There was this system which is exclusive to my dept. When my HK partner reminded me to fill in this tab, I confronted Mr J to ask him why he din teach me about this
Mr J: I dunno. I never use this tab before
Me: How come you never know about this thing?
Mr J: I really dunno. I'm very surprised how come a temp staff in HK knows more than me
and he still can laugh it off...
4) I was asking him about case A at his desk. When we discussed that we need more info from another dept, and that person happen to sit beside him so we just move over. He began talking about case B which is already closed. Since case B involves legal rights issue, the person doesn't really want to talk much about it. I thought Mr J has some other issues to discuss with that person, so I just let him continue, without knowing he's totally on the wrong note...
Mr J always confuses me, but necause it's internal discussion, I can still clarify things with him. But when we're having discussions with other people from another dept, he
points his fingers at meMr J: I thought case B is what you're talking about?
Me: No, we're talking about case A
because I happen to have all the email correspondence on my hand serving as evidence, Mr J had no choice but to apologize in front of everyone, saying that he's confused about things.
If I hadn't had all the evidences with me, I might have been bullied by him!
5) Head Office wanted us to give them a report within 2 days. I talked to HK side and learnt that they can't give us the info within 2 days, and that this was not the usual way of doing things. I then approached Mr J for advice.
Mr J: I dun see a problem. There is no need for extension of deadline
Me: HK side say they can't produce the report within 2 days, and if this time we can give the and within 2 days, next time they may cut to 1.5 days, and then later to 1 day, which is impossible!
Mr J: Can one lah, can one. I know the head office people. They can one lah. tell HK side not to worry.
Me: But they have already explained they can't meet the deadline, and there defintely is the possibility that they may cut short the deadline in the future, isn't it?
and Mr J keeps ignoring my plea to ask for extension of deadline.
Me: Since you keep insisting that it can be done, then YOU go tell HK side that you say it can be done
Mr J: No lah. I don't want to let them feel like I'm ordering them to do things. Anyway, if anything goes wrong, HK side is answerable, not us. We dun need to worry.
FYI. Im talking about s=us belonging to the same team, differing by geographical locations...
then HK side called me, and i explained to him saying we have no say, any maybe he could approach APAC head to ask the head office for extension of deadline.
then afterwards, APAC head emailed everyone to let them know of the extension of deadline.
Mr J then came happily telling me: See! This should be the right way. the big boss should be the one talking.
i was like WTF!
Mr j is a mgr. who wouldn't listen to a mgr if he asks for deadline? Who wouldn't listen if your reasons are valid? Why is a mgr acting like a tortoise, avoiding responsibilities like that? I really wonder why and home come Mr J's a mgr
Then ok. since big boss asked for extension, everything is settled for the time being. I discussed this with Mr J, asking him what can be done to improve the situation. After discussion, mr J suggested a way to solve the problem
MeL ok. then you go suggest to HK side to ask them do this way going forward
mr J; it's ok lah. they're smart ppl. even without me telling them what to do, they'll know what to do lah...
HELLO!!! we're in the same team but why are you being so defensive?
Mr J: aiyoh. hk side ppl not good one. got a lot of problems
i was thinking: look at your own attitude towards work. how can anyone not be angry and uncooperate with you?
6) we wanted IT to do an enhancement with the recommendation of another dept, we went to contact HK IT to help us do the enhancement. But the right procedure is go through SG IT (as we're based in SG) and let SG IT to decide which country's IT to take on the enhancement. We shouldn't have approached HK IT directly. one of my friends from SG IT happen to know of the event and he called me to explain the correct procedure as to what is the right way to do things, then i realized we're wrong. So, once again, I approached mr j to ask him if he knew about the company policies and procedure
mr j: sorry leh. i really dunno
as i knew what his ans would be, i just jokingly tell him
my friend in SG IT tell me to put 'As instructed by my boss, this is what we need to do' in all my emails
mr j: no lah. dun need lah
It's as if he's so scared that I mention his name cos if anything goes wrong, he'll be answerable to the things i say/do
tortoise. idiot
7) Today the ex deputy CFO sent me a personal email saying she's no longer working with our entity and has moved on to another entity of the bank
i guess she's fed up cos we kept her in the CC loop so she emiled me in private, asking me to be the messenger to remind others
I was totally surprised because no one informed anyone of us, and i have to apologise to her, and thank her for reminding
as usual, i asked mr J if he knew the deputy CFO is moving to another entity of the bank
mrJ: ya, i know
i totally blasted like volcano erupt.
me: if you knew, why din you remind the rest?
and then mr j just kept quiet. i also dun care about him and proceed to remind all the other ppl that the deputy CFO has left our enity. I even called to tell HK about this matter
den hk ask me: both of you din talk to each other? you'r not sitting beside each other?
me: yea, im sitting beside him, but i dunno why he behaves like that
i totally dun care about him and stab him. lol
then mr j caught me during tea break. i hinted to him how displeased i was about him retaining info.
then he says: you're too young to know how bad hk ppl are
me: but these kind of things is just a friendly reminder. why would anyone think it in a negative way? do you know that the ex deputy CFO emailed me in private?
mr J:
yes, i saw your email for the reminder. next time i share with you all the gossips i know
that is his way of improving the situation. wad an asshole
and all these happen within 1 mth. i really can't imagine if i were to work under him for years
I'll be super evil!!
I love my world:D
